Engine Seriously Bucking and loosing power
I post once on this issue and it seems to have gotten worse..
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ad.php?t=90970
SO far I have put new fuel filter, new Lift Pump, and I still can not get the truck to stop bucking.
The gist of what it does is:
I start driving and get up to 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear and it will all of a sudden buck and have no power.. usually if i take my foot of the pedal for a sec and then press it back down it will start pulling again..
and the worst part is that it is not consistent.. I drove truck around last night and did not have one problem but when I went out for lunch today it was bucking like crazy and once the truck even died..
I pulled over and it started right back up..
I have also pumped the lift pump probably 500 times and cracked the lines to make sure the air is out and it still bucks.. I am at a loose and need help..
I am thinking about dropping gas tank washing it out and filling with new fuel incase somehting is tank..
anyone else have any ideas??
Thanks in advacne

Just a few, but I can only speculate.
I had a similar problem. To make the long story shorter, my problem turned out to be the plunger return springs in the pump. One of them had broke.
I also have the pump off of a 92 at home that broke both return springs.
Thats just one possiblity.
But I would check the simple things first. How's the shut down selinoid and the wire connecting to it? When you bled the system did any air come out?

Yup, check that wire, like the fellas said. Follow it as far as you can to check for scuffing, too. I *think* you can hotwire the solenoid to the +battery terminal for testing purposes, as well.

A month after I got my new VE from Bosch, I voided the warranty by installing the 3200 spring and did the AFC grind while I was in there. I got 300 yards down the road and the truck bucked and quit---just like it did when my original VE went a month before. Curiously, I had just installed the 3200 spring on the old pump as well, so I'm thinking the absolute worst. It ended up being that darn spade connector, but man the pucker-factor was through the roof for a few minutes there
