Any differences between an '01 24 valve block and a '93?? Say I take the 24 valve stuff and put on the 93?

I know there are guys putting 24 valve heads on 12ers, and 24 valve guys putting p-pumps on 24 valves.

the pistons are different between the 12 and 24 valve heads because of the injector locations, so pistons have to be changed if swaping between the two heads

24 valve cam has no eccentric for the lift pump.

A few minor things, most of the parts will bolt up. The 24 valve blocks have a turbo oil drain in the back and the early 24 valve engines have a tone ring bolted to the crackshaft right by the #6 main. 24 valve blocks also run a 12mm main bolt where the older 12 valve blocks run a 14mm main bolt.

I wouldn't waste time using a 24 valve head. Prone to cracking through the exhaust seats, little valve stems that wear funny and guides that don't wear well at all.

Thanks for the info thats all good to know. Guess I can let the cat outta the bag now huh?
I had an '01 all lined up to buy that chucked a rod, I was going to use the bottom end of the '93 but the deal fell through. So thats the reason I was asking anyway.
