Electrical Issues, Possible ECM ?

Starting to have problems with what i think is the computer,

Sometimes in the morning, i dont have a speedometer, or tach, and the voltmeter reads low, and obviosly without a speedometer, i have no overdrive,
Drive a couple miles and it starts to work again,

Any ideas,
Next time it happens i am going to verify, if it is actually charging or not,

Eric

How cold are these mornings? Is the wait to start light flashing sometimes?

I think your right on the mark with the ECM. I've had 2 that did similar things to me.

I almost forgot, it could also be the crank sensor, the dodge PCM uses that to tell if the engine is running.

Is there anything else that the crank sensor sends a signal to?

Going to pull the plug apart and check the connections there tonight, and dielectric grease it
Mornings werent to cold, 20-25 F just started doing it, didnt do it when it was really cold,

On to solutions,
Bypass the ECM ???
The overdrive is easy, just go to manual switch,
What about the speedometer and the tach, any easy way around those?

I'm betting PCM too. Check the connector for crud first, though.

You can get the speedo working with a VSS for a manual trans truck.
