Downpipe attachment point

What do most guys do about the down pipe hanger when they go bigger?
I have a 3.5" down pipe and the anchor point at the bellhousing obviously doesn't fit/work anymore. I worry that the unsupported weight/flexing/vibrating might eventually crack my turbo housing? Theres 3 hangers on down the line but they are all behind the crossmember. Have ya'll been modifying a clamp to anchor to the bellhousing or am I obsessing for no reason?

My bellhousing bracket broke off, resulting in the flange on the end of my downpipe snapping and the downpipe falling off. I built a hanger on the transmission crossmember to help with this.

My downpipe is clamped to the stock bracket. The downpipe needs to be secured to the engine/trans assembly, you are right that you don't want the turbine housing taking the load of the exhaust system. Modify/make something that will work like the stock bracket.

Moved mine down to the hole in the 5-530 position and supprted the bottom of the pipe with a piece of bar stock. Have seen the dowel pins and holes get hogged out with the stock location hanger, then in turn causing all kinds of things to break.

I attached mine to the stock DP attachment point. I just bought a 4 inch exhaust clamp for the 4 inch DP.

Mine's not in the same position anymore. I'll have to fabricate something.
Shouldn't have bought the cheap version from Texas Diesel Exhaust. Been trouble from the beginning. Live and learn.

Can someone send me some pictures of the downpipe hanger. I don't think my truck ever had one. I finally got the downpipe from stans and want to put things back correct.

Thanks guys. I welded a bracket to a clamp and bolted it to the next lower bellhousing bolt. Thanks for the input.
