Is driveline supposed to be straight from point A to point B

Is driveline supposed to be straight from point A to point B

Is the deiveline supposed to be a straight line from transfercase output to rearend input? Mines not...if it is supposed to be straight then why is there a carrier bearing? See my signature to know what truck I'm reffering to.

No it's not straight. I believe it is offset somewhat. What that accomplishes I'm not 100% sure but I read that it allows the needle bearings in the ujoints to rotate.
