I am a member of a Porsche 912 forum (full of engineers ) and they all seem to have names for their cars. I gotta be honest sounds verrrrrry effeminate, not that there is anything wrong with that......Mark

Hey, what's wrong with engineers ?

The old mercedes forum I was on all had very affectionate names for their cars. *gag reflex*

Dad always named all his Fords "Henry" in some form or other. When he bought one from the Drilling and Blasting company, it was dubbed "Dynamite Henry", his first diesel was "Big Henry" and his Ranger is the best: "Henrietta"!!

EDIT: oh yeah, the ol lady calls the Utility truck the "Happy Truck" because she's just odd like that. The Dually is the "Bad *** Truck". But honestly, Utility and Dually is the common nomenclature in my dooryard.

I don't think it was a hit on anyone. Heck, ships and boats are always referred to as "she". Just tradition.

just cause u give ur truck a name doesnt mean anything....a truck is way different then a porsche......it can take u anywhere, haul anything, get u or a friend out of a tight spot...be a nice place to watch a drive in movie or the stars with the old lady.....a porsche may look nice and go fast and cost an arm and a leg but I know a lot of trucks that can do the same...and more......giving ur truck a name isnt like naming a teddy bear...it's more out of respect for what it does for u day in and day out and what it stands for.....and if ur truck doesnt have a name then thats fine....not here to say u have to or that ur dumb if u don't....was just curious if some trucks had names and how they got them

I call the 93 "GBob"

Grey Bucket of Bolts

It's grey, And sounds like a bucket full of bolts when it's idling.

And the last 91 we had was BBob...Blue Bucket of bolts.
