Dissapointed in new injectors 5X14 (too much smoke)

I just installed some new 5x14 SDX injectors and they smoke way to much. Just starting off normally it will smoke and when i change gears. Im in cali and all the tree huggers hate me haha. Can you tune the VE to lean it out some?. I have a he351 and the denny t pin. thanks

well the problem is with the afc. the inherent design of it won't allow you to tune the smoke out very well, unfortunately. If I was you I would back the smoke screw out and tighten up the star wheel, maybe even throw the stock fuel pin back in it. the dennyt2 pin certainly doesn't help with preboost smoke, if that's the pin you have.

Wanna trade for some Bosch 190s? ;-)

I don't know what you've done to yours, but you can try advancing the timing and/or pulling the fuel pin out a bit.

Those would be what I would try first.

you can add more timing, tighten up the starwheel quite a bit, back off the smoke screw all the way, and m&h has a spacer that allows the the fuel pin to go even higher.. i did something similar but machined out some of the cap instead of shimming the cap.

where is your fuel screw set?

If you do decide to ditch the injectors, let me know. I am looking to go to a smaller injector for better towing performance.

But, I think the problem is in your tuning. I ran 5 x 13's with a HE351 and I don't remember it really smoking that bad.

thanks for all the tips i do also have the m&h spacer as well. i think im going to mess with the starwheel and maybe go back to a stock fuel pin. Ill keep you in mind head if i get rid of them.

Go to a higher pop pressure.

You have to send them to an injector shop.

I do not know why this was recommended, unless yours are popping off at lower than the designed pressure.

Higher pop pressures mean better atomization of the fuel droplets meaning less smoke.

How much boost are you seeing? What are exhuast temps? Did it make a big difference in how it runs?
Does it clean up after the turbo spools?

Does it smoke at an idle or just when you are driving?
