fitting 38.5x14.5x17?
Has anyone tried these on a 4.5" lift? I want to put them on my h2 wheels. I know the 11x16 (38.8"x11 or so) military tires fit no problems on the stock wheels. And that 37" tires would be no issues either on h2 wheels. The 38.5's though are dang close. To close to waste that kind of money on if they dont fit. plenty of room everywhere except in a turn at the bottom of the rocker where that metal lip hangs down. Looks like I'd have maybe 1/4" on level ground. Straight line I have something like 2" with those tires. Does anyone make a 1" spring spacer? my 4.5" lift ended up being close to 6"
Thanks
Thanks

They would be too big for a 4.5 inch lift IMO. You would probably need a wider wheel also, H2s are what 8.5 inches? A 14.5 inch section width tire on an 8.5 inch wide wheel is kinda pushing it.

To give you some idea, I ran 33x15.5x15 SX's on my old CJ, and they were on a 15x14 wheel...I could have gone with 15x12, but 15x10 would have been pushing it.

I know procomp says it requires a 9-12" wheel for that tire but when I called them they said I can get away with a 8.5. I'd probbaly give it a try since all aftermarket wheels that arnt custom have to little backspaceing and push the wheels way out for my taste. I dont know 1/4" - 1/2" of clearance at full lock dosent seem like alot. If I hit a bump or something. That also puts meover the leagle hight limit witch is fine but adding a larger lift on top of that I think is pushing things.

If you think you got 6" of lift out of those SJ arms, they're already too short. Another inch is asking for problems.
Anything over 4" really needs to be long arms, unless the biggest thing you ever hit is a curb cut or a speed bump.
I'm running 37's on 8" wheels. I have +6" ride height, and my axle is pushed 3/4" forward. I can still rub the tires if I stuff them with the wheels turned.

You'll need the backspacing to clear your control arms and other steering/suspension components. Backspacing is the only reason I can fit 35x12.50's on my stock 12V. So what if they stick out a little more, thats why I have BW Flares, plus it keeps your roll point lower with the wider stance, and looks better with a lift.
