Would this help?
Okay, I got my FP gauge installed today, and the news is not as good as I hoped. With the factory "upgraded" in-tank pump I was seeing about 9 psi at idle, 7 psi cruising and about 2 psi floored. Changed the fuel filter and saw a slight improvement. For the record, the truck runs flawless right now, I'd just like to keep it that way!
How effective would installing a Holley blue pump in front of the stock in-tank unit be, without any fuel line upgrades? For the time being, I would like to leave all the lines stock except where it needs to be cut for the Holley. (I don't plan any performance upgrades to the engine at this time.) I plan on hooking the pump up through a relay to the stock pump wiring so it would run at the same time(s).
One other thing: What fitting(s) are needed to connect the Holley to the stock size line?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to provide! You guys have been a great source of info for a newbe CTD owner like myself.

you have to be careful adding a pump in froint of the replacement pump. If the pump you install pumps a higher volume at the same rated pressure, it will be pulling vacuum at best and cavitating and failing early at worst.
IMO, if you are going to change or add a fuel pump, do it right, add a Vulcan Draw Straw 2 and set it up so that the performance you have now is what you will have in the future.
This is a cost effective upgrade and insurance policy that will not affect horsepower of reliability one bit.
In my '02, the factory module fittings had an I.D. of .24". There was 3 at that size.
Do it once, do it right.
