need less smoke is something wrong?

Check my sig. I just installed a set of 150hp Jammers in my truck. I have the stock HX35 hooked up and gets to about 25 psi boost. It seems to take a while to build enough boost to clear smoke, even with the comp completely off. At take-off, there is a black haze coming out, enough to **** drivers off behind me no matter how light footed I am.

Do I have a problem somewhere? Should I switch the injectors out?

Do you have an adjustable brass elbow on your turbo. Or the one that is supplied with the edge box, or do you have the stock one?

Even here in Utah, you should be able to hit 30 psi boost no problem. My guess is boost leak, or if you didn't replace the brass fitting that disables the wastegate.

I just put the adjustable boost elbow and can now reach 30+ psi no problem. My problem is at take off--to much smoke, feels like my stock turbo has gotten very very laggy.

I dont know why.

BigBlue--does your truck smoke at take off all the time with the box off?

I run my Juice on level 1x1 to help control the smoke at takeoff. These injectors are really dirty running. With the comp on, you should be able to hit 34-38 psi boost on a good hill WOT. If you can't get that high, I would definitely check for boost leaks. I've had several on my truck. The smoke is much more controllable when it is cooler outside. This high altitude and high temps kill spool up and make smoke a fact of life.

So yes, my truck smokes at takeoff with my box off. On level 6... HOT on the Juice, I can literally smoke out all six lanes of State street in Orem.

In my opinion thats the nature of Jammers. Pop off pressure is lower than most others so the fuel doesnt burn near as clean. I know my 4s were horrible...stepped up to a set of 200hp and actually lost smoke on take off.

You probably need some timing to help with the low boost fuel control.

As it was mentioned, running on 1x1 will help control smoke and add some timing.
