found the door rattle, Kinda dissapointed in engineering

After tons of time driving and searching. I found the wind caused rattle. The mirror cover that mates to the door/window isnt pressed tight against the window and when the crosswind hits it shakes just enough to tap on the window. That isnt what upsets me the most though. after lookin at it, I noticed something, and it was really bad on the passenger side, The plastic actually cuts into the window, Got some nice lil cuts that are more than big enough to catch a finger nail in. GRRR now to figure out how to stop the plastic from shaking, wonder if this could be warrentied.

If it isn't that much space between the window and mirror, could you place some type of rubber gasket to seal it just enough? I would try tightening up the bolt on the inside first though.

I have the door rattle too. Mine seems worse when the bass is booming on the radio. Could the speaker generate the same vibration as wind does or do I simply have a bad woofer in the door?

Try shimming the plastic off the window with a couple of business cards to see if that solves your problem. If it does...you will need to disassemble the mirror and trim back the plastic.

I believe there is TSB for this problem. The dealer inserts a washer. Don't know the TSB #.

I have the bass trouble as well, ,but ive never had a vechile that had good speakers in it that didnt rattle. Thats the innerd of the door , THis is a diffrent deal that im talkin about. To fix the door rattle though just go to your local wally world and get some speaker insolation. works wonders

The TSB for the windows is if you have the trailer two mirrors and your passenger window rolls down slow (like mine). Was going to have mine done last year when i got the 'white smoke' TSB done. Picked the truck up later that day and they weren't able to do the mirror because they didn't have the correct washer ... Haven't been back since and have just dealt with a passenger window that rolls down one second slower than the drivers side. No biggie to me
