Daytime Running light relay gave up
Daytime Running light relay gave up
Hello gang, My daytime running light relay kicked the bucket on me yesterday, wouldn't shut the lights off when I shut the truck down and the high beam indicator was always on but dim when the hibeams were not on... Went to NAPA and they didn't list one, is this a dealer only item? If I can't find one I'll just run without it as I am doing now... What pins would I need to put a jumper in to make the hibeam indicator work? Thanks,
Toby in Squamish, B.C.

I have my DRL jumpered for the High Beam indicator. My DRL module (pretty much the same controller) died too. I just unplugged it and found the pins to connect from the high beam relay and the indicator lite. I think the problem may be that the modules had different pin outs for the earlier models.
I would use a DVM and find the high beam signal. There are a number of ground wires too in that coupler. I don't have a book for the correct wire colors for the signals and output to the dash..
For me the Red/orange was the high beam signal from the relay and the high beam indicator was ... I am gonna have to go look again.
