You can unplug the DRL module under the hood. I'm not sure exactly where it is (drivers side fender I think) The problem with "unplugging" the module is that your high beam indicator lights up and stays lit.
I've thought about the same situation with regards to using fogs only. Problem is that the factory fog lights suck when compared to a real "fog" type light. Not sure if you have already tried this but, find a dark straight road, turn on your fogs and put on park brake enough to turn of DRL's. You'll find they are not that great. If it's really important to have for foggy weather, buy a set of real fog lights from Hella, Bosch, Cibie, etc.

Just my .02 cents

Actually, if you unplug the module, you have NO high beam indicator light. That's the only problem. A plus is that the fog lights work on high beam and low beam. At least that's the way it was on my '97 gasser and the '02 CTD.

I went through 2 modules on the '97 and figured screw it the third time, just left it unplugged. When the module calves, your high beam light will remain on as will your headlights, draining the battery. So, as far as I'm concerned, they're useless.

The first reply was correct...just click the emergency brake pedal one click, and NO DRL's, and no other bad effects.

You might want to see if this is a feature you can enable or disable with the DRB. I know from experiance that you can disable the DRL feature on some of the newer models, but i don't know when they started this. If you hook up the DRB,go into "customers preferances" and see if it there to enable or disable. TGCTD
