should be no oil in the clutch. did you take the hub/bracket off the block with it? if so, the hub bearing is sealed. maybe that's where the oil came from?

Sorry, time for a new clutch fan that one is shot.

LEAKS

Viscous fan drive operation is not affected by small oil stains near the drive bearing. If leakage appears excessive, replace the fan drive unit.

VISCOUS DRIVE
If the fan assembly free-wheels without drag (the fan blades will revolve more than five turns when spun by hand), replace the fan drive. This spin test must be performed when the engine is cool.

if that's the case, get the new & updated one from the dealer. supposed to be quieter. the new fans have a slightly different pitch to the blades as well.

You let all the good out of it. That's why you should always stand the fan on edge when you take it off the truck. I know, I know, that's real helpful information now!

Yeah, a good one can be ruined by laying it down.

You can get one from the local parts store, I don't think it's critical to get OEM. No need to buy a fan if yours is in good shape. Check it closely for cracks around the rivets.

If you are towing anything more than a motorcycle trailer, get an oem. I haven't had good luck with parts store ones. They don't lock up near as soon or as good as an oem.
