Changing vacuum pumps

I would like to change the vacuum pump on my 1990 diesel to a newer style 1991.5 intercooled setup after many people have suggested it. What is need to do this other then the vac pump with power steering pump. I know someone mentioned an oil line??? Anyone have the details of making one?? Like, where does the feed come from, and attach?? Can the vac lines just be hooked up??
I just put mine all back together and the power and it was a bit of a pain and frustrating...see the post finally got it back together..I figure I can sell both my new pumps for about the cost of one when I get the new setup..but I would like to know what exactly I need so I can collect parts, there are always a few on ebay I could pick up if I come accross a deal!

Sorry, never messed with that part of the engine. I didn't even know they were different year-to-year.

There's a pipe plug in the side of the engine right next to the vacuum pump for the oil feed. The hose is less than a foot long, a hydraulic hose shop can make you a really nice one, or if you're lucky you can score the line with the pump setup you buy. Vacuum line is no big deal - it's just vacuum hose from the parts store if what's there won't reach.

Yes.

Any of them will fit, but I would go with a '98 or earlier pump (off a 12 valve). The 24 valve trucks have smaller vacuum pumps that aren't meant to run a brake booster.
