Can you bolt an OEM A518 O/D unit to a 727 transmission?

Head, you've completely missed the whole point of my post by taking one simple word out of context. The point I was making was the A518 is basically nothing more than a 727 with an overdrive attached to the tail end of it, which is correct. Now, whether it be bolted, welded, fused, glued, cemented, taped, or attached with tinkerbell's magic pixey dust, is of no matter to the OP's original question. So, with that said, how are you able to tell me, "I told you so"?

The Head is a strange person, go through and read his posts. He's only happy when he's grumpy.

It's not arguing, it's debate.

I'm not really a pokes fan. But I hope they win anyways.

If they had been thinking a little more they could have had the first six speed on the market long before Gubmint motors.

Ever drove a 6.7 with a 68RFE? It's pretty sweet... well compared to a 518 anyways.

Them things are terrible!! Too many gears, it's always trying to find a better one.

I agree, they're the first Dodge auto I have ever driven that actually knew which gear it wanted to be in. On my 48re in my 06, if I'm going anywhere above about 23 mph, I can left of the throttle and the trans will shift from 3rd into 4th, which if accelerating fully up past torque converter lock, shouldn't happen until 38 mph. It's kind of annoying, but nice for low speed unlocked cruising mileage though.
