Bought truck with CC disconnected

Any pictures of how the Cruise Control hooks to the throttle linkage? I think I may be missing a part or two. I also heard if the Clockspring in the steering column that the CC and the horn won't work (which the horn does not work, but that's a seperate issue)

I've searched for some engine bay pictures but I need some detail to see where everything goes. Thanks for any help guys

Here are a few pictures of the throttle linkage.
Also your odometer has to work to have cruise control.

Jim,

Are you not running the return spring on to the timing cover for a reason, or was it just not put on at the time... I've ran without mine a few times, makes the pedal feel a lot lighter!!! On a second note, I am still in the process of fixing all the mess ups my truck had from the previous owner, there are two holes in the throttle mechanism on the pump for the linkage shaft.. Is the way yours is set up the correct way, spring on the inside, swivel to the outside..?? Mine swivel is on the inside right now, I was thinking it had to go to the outside hole.. thanks

Not sure if it is right or wrong but the linkage connected to the inside hole would change the geometry and give you more pump travel with less pedal travel, but also require a bit more force.

I have never had an issue where I needed the return spring. Yet.

The spring on the pump returns it to idle all by itself, unless it is a failsafe.

the Kick Down Cable on the non I/C 727 auto trucks provided so much spring resistance that I removed my timing cover spring. It made it possible to drive longer without cramping the foot.

I have my kickdown cable pushed all the way to back, it shifts nice and firm..lol I didn't like the way it shifted when I had it hooked up the correct way.. I felt like I was in a cadilac..

If you dont have the cable adjusted right, you'll be giong through th etranny in no time- it controls the pressure from the lines to the torque convertor. I had mine adjusted as tight at it'd go- more pressure sooner. Not sure if it made a difference or not, as I sold the truck soon afterwords. Dipweed who rebuilt my mom's tranny had so much slop in the TV cable, she gained a full MPG when I adjusted it. Why people cant read the book is beyond me.

Stock, they have the ball on the outside and spring on the inside.

It is common to swap them around to gain more throttle travel.
When you back the idle off after playin' with the power screw or just back the high idle limit out, you need a little more travel.
