Thanks in the bumper. There is maybe a 1/2" gap at the most but but it's not very noticeable unless you look for it. Which I didn't until you asked.
If I remember correctly, using the '72-'79 wiper cowl piece of metal with the '72-79 bird bath style hood makes it easiest to make it look all factory.
IIRC, the later hood is taller in the center, right back to where it meets up with that cowl piece.

If you were really fixing it up fancy, it would be cool to put "Cummins Turbo Diesel" or "Cummins Super B" or some emblems like that on the hood where the "Power Wagon" emblems used to go...
