I'm on the fence with LEDs. Like Edwin, the blue messes with me (old eyes???). I also don't like the fly-eye look of all those "bubbles" when they're off during the day. But then again, I seldom drive fast enough at night to need more than what I got. Isn't it true that the OEM lamps get some brighter when relayed anyway?

The Truck Lite brand has the military using them and are a little more expensive. They also seem to last longer, with less problems and I think look a lot better on an old rig than those out of place bug eye lens.
These are the Hella headlights I bought for my truck. They come with a 12 volt bulbs but for some reason the listing shows they're 24 volts but later in the listing it shows 12 volt 60 watt bulbs.
These are the 100 watt bulbs I bought for them.
This is the relay set I got for the truck. It's plug and play except for the power hookup to the battery. I added a 30 amp circuit breaker just because.

Was it having problems prior? If not, could it be as simple as the linkage now binds due to the impact maybe?

They are plug and play.
The only down side to them I can see other than the price, is the fact they do not produce heat like a incandescent bulb does. Which means winter driving in heavy snow would start to stick to the headlights as it would not melt off.
I think they make a heat version as well, but it have them on my summer only rides, so it is not an issue. They sure do light up stuff down the road well at night though...think deer ETC on the roads.
There is a little talk about them on my "Saving a '91.0 W250" thread on here.
Some of these super truckers that are covered in LED's really **** me off at night. Non-DOT lights that are too bright might be good for the driver, not for on coming traffic. Eventually the cops are going to use them for revenue enhancement. My brother pops them when he works nights with the Florida highway patrol. He also snags the Jeeps with the red, blue etc headlight rings. You get one warning that goes into the system as such. 2nd stop is going to cost you some big money.

I agree some of the stuff I see on the road now a days is way too bright if you are in the on coming lane.
On the lonely dirt back roads of VT the Truck Lite sure help pick out the glowing green eyes of the deer ETC way down the road.
The Truck Lites are DOT approved and even used by the military.

Well got the core support off, fan assymbly and turbo on. Then got my to do list handed to me. Suppose to snow Thursday and Friday so will see when the next work day gets to happen. Did find a clean 96 cummins to drive until it gets on the road again. Then I will give the 96 to my wife.
Some of the parts from a gasser will work. Things like the bumper, the fenders, the chromed plastic grille and the hood.
Things like the core support, radiator, fan shroud, fan hub, A/C condenser, intercooler will be 91.5-'93 diesel part only.
BTW, I will have ALL, or just some, of the parts needed to fix this truck in VT.
