blower fan quit working

My blower fan quit working and this is what I found. Anyone else have this problem? I wiggeled the conector and it started working again, but I ordered a new one anyway.

My dads 91 had the same problem. I'm not real sure why they do that though.

Just swapped the one out of my parts truck yesterday.

I noticed, One heavy 10ga red wire=feed

1 16ga wire= low
1 14ga wire=med
1 12ga wire= high

I was checking it with my multimeter...

Continuity from the feed terminal to 16ga wire low, feed to 14 med. And I want to say both the 14 and the 12 had continuity when swich was in the "high" position. Kinda strange.

Mine plug showed signs of burning too, just not that bad.

Jim Lane wrote a nice piece about putting the blower motor on a relay to prevent that from happening. It's in the sticky.

I plan on doing the blower motor relay thing but NAPA is the process of moving into their new store so it'll be a couple of days until I can get the parts.
