Well, I know bgilbert has a SP66 from HTT, but I havent heard any numbers yet... He should pop in here soon. I havent heard of many people running a B1 series turbo on the 1st gens, but I'm not sure why.

Because most people will tell you that a ve pump cant put out enough fuel to spool a larger single, but we all know that is false.

Well I ran my HX40/16 as a single and it worked just fine. I put down 419hp. It would still get hot though. I think you could get a way with a sledpuller66 with a smaller exhaust housing to help with spoolup. Or a phat shaft 64 or 66. A B1 would also do fine. Pump would have to be maxed though. The biggest thing is there is going to be some lag no matter what.

Heck after I broke my pump we put on a totally stock pump and it made it home. It was a pig turbo's didnt even try to light 850* max. With my old stocker maxed out I could get to 1100* and sometimes 1200* with the twins.

I wouldn't be afraid to put any of the big singles available on a 1st gen with 12mm pump. Just depends on what you consider lag, what your intended use of the truck is etc. A HX40 is good til about 400rwhp, then egt's get hot. If you are wanting more hp for sled pulling, I'd pass on the hx40 and go with a B1 or the like. B1's, HTB2's etc are based on a Schwitzer s300. Tougher than the hx40.

Yeah, I am not afraid of some lag, because when it lights watch out. I was Thinking about JR's Baby 55. Would that be too much?
