Could not one install a dash-mounted vacuum gauge, with the sending unit where you put the filter-minder, and monitor what is happening by changes in vacuum ??

Or, am I way off in left field with that one ??

Thanks.

That's all it is - a crude vacuum gauge that sticks at the highest reading. They probably did a little testing to come up with something that responds and reads appropriately for intake vacuum levels.

Filter minder makes a unit that mounts in the dash. No need to reinvent the wheel.
