My dad is 78 and has a 93 club cab 4 x 4 with only 85,000 miles. I have tried to get him to sell it over the last couple years to no avail. He absolutely loves it. So I ended up buying a 98.5 chassis cab, and wow it drives nice. I just wish it was a 12 valve engine for simplicity. Also only paid 5500.00 for it.

Hell I didn't buy mine until I was over 50!! (54 now)
And I love the truck by the way.
Just wish the tires weren't so freakin' heavy. I swear they were lighter 4 years ago

Well if life begins at 40 I'm well past my teens. I'd like a new truck but can't see spending thousands on insurance, another thousand or so to register it, then I'd have to get a new camper, then start all over again on toys for it. With diesel prices 50 cents a gallon more than gas I might even consider a gasser. Just too confusing for us older folks.

I was 50 when I purchased my 92 CTD in 1992. The truck now has just over 120,000 km and has never given me any problems. After 14 years I am still amazed how this thing starts - turn the key and it fires up instantly. I have spent next to nothing on repairs. Best vehicle I have owned over the years.

new truck
Be 44 in Sep of 2006 and tierd of working and fixing every dam thing that I drive. My first truck was a 1955 Chevy, fun. Then a 1966 Cadillac Ambulance. That's about the length and weight of the 2500 MEGA cab I'm look'in to buy. That caddy was fun. Had a 1979 Chevy 1/2 ton that ate tires and gas. And a Nissan extended cab, forget the year, but a scary rig. Prior to getting shipped of to Iraq I had, but gave it away, a 1986 Ford 1/2 piece of . What sold me on the idea of going diesel was driving my Dad's bull dozer back in the day...well one of the reasons. The really reason is I owned a 30 ft 1992 Champion Bus with a Cummings Engine and Allison transmission and that thing was cool. Ripped out the seats and turned it into a home. Well at least with a Mega cab I'll have 10 feet less to move around and park. Never owned a new vehicle and now throwing everything I've got for a huge down payment so that this truck payment won't feel like a house payment.
