Another pump tuning question

Is it possible to have too much fuel at low boost? So much so that it will make the turbo more laggy at low rpm? I have a lot of smoke down low but it cleans up pretty good once the boost builds past 20psi. I have the smoke screw backed all the way out and the afc starwheel is turned over and backed out till it is just starting to touch the clicker. I think I need a stiffer afc spring but don't know where to get one.

With my stock sticks and turbo, if I turn my starwheel down it gives to much fuel at low boost. It floods out the turbo so I smoke alot and go nowhere. Not sure how your setup would work. But here is a stiffer AFC spring. http://shop.thehungrydiesel.com/Stro...AFC-Spring.htm

I swapped my green (?) spring out for a plain silver spring from an '89. It is much stiffer.

I used one of those springs. It makes the truck more tuneable. I thinke you will like it

I ordered the spring and a fuel tank sump. I hope it helps me tune the pump.
