I would try checking the voltage on the wires that go to the clutch. I have never played with AC much, but I suppose it may be a good start.

Is there any r12(or 134a if you made that mistake) in it?

Wow..
That stuff sounds too good to be true.

Has anyone here used this substitute and what were the results compared to R-12?
I would like to try some and compare it but it seens odd that there is only a few places to get it in the USA and it is mail order?

If you've got a leak- fix it!!

To do a crude recovery, get an empty R12 or 22 30 # container. There's a lock ring around the valve-cut it off. All disposable containers have a 1-way valve. I simply backed the valve out as much as possible, and super glued the check valve piece to the end.
Put the container in a 5 gallon bucket and ice it down heavily. Cold will have most of the freon condense in the container.
