In a bung in the pan.

There's really not much point, the Cummins has an oil-to-water oil cooler so oil temp pretty much parallels coolant temp. Lags a little behind during warm-up and runs a few degrees hotter during normal operation. It will be a boring gauge.

Thanks, in that case should I only have water temp? What about oil pressure? I plan on tweaking the pump alittle, bigger exhaust,3200 spring etc.little at a time, maybe more as time goes on turbo, injectors, just not sure if I can depend on my oem gauges.Oem oil and fuel gauges are erratic.I am also installing pyro and boost,I have those figured out. Thanks

Water temp, oil pressure, and if it's an auto or you tow heavy with a stick add trans temp.

Oil pressure is not super critical, the factory gauge is OK. The Cummins is OK with "some" oil pressure, and the factory gauge is good for reading "some."
