hamilton has new cams they are the billet stg 2 and they cost 499 plus core.
you can also regrind yours for 299 no core

If it's a new billet, why does he need a core? The helix is has no core charge....

OK, I didnt read the whole thread, but I have a question here. How in the sam h*** are 24 valve 3rd gens using a 12 valve cam????? Am I missing something? 24 valves 24 lobes, 12 valves 12 lobes.........????????

my guess would be one lobe runs two valves

The answer is they still use 12 lifters.
Take a look at a picture of a 24 valved rocker; one rocker opens 2 valves.

I've been looking into this myself, as I have to R&R the cam to replace a cracked/ leaking gear housing in the truck in my signature sometime this summer. Would a nonIC cam be worth replacing my IC'd cam with? What does a new nonIC cam cost from Cummins? Looking for better bottom end and better breathing.

Can a cam from a 98 12v go in a 1st gen truck then? From my understanding, yes, correct?

From what I've been told, there isn't much difference between an I/C VE cam and a P Pump cam.
