91' All dash gauges quit

Hello, I recently purchased a 91 truck. All of the dash gauges quit on previous owner; speedometer, oil, temp, ect. All wiring and under dash fuses look good. It is an eary 91 so it doesnt have a pcm box under battery, maybe another location? Checked for fuses under hood near hood hinge, no fuses seen. Any help will be great, I don't know where to start..

Do the lights in the gauges and the turn signal indicators still work?

Yes, the dash lights and turn signals still work, just none of the gauges;
the oil pressure is stuck on high, fuel 1/4 tank, temp normal, voltage is all the way down. Seems odd that they are not all at the bottom, even took the battery loose, the gauges stayed in the same location.

Mine did that and it was a loose ground on the grille mount right near the battery, there are two wires on there in which i tightened and no more problems since.

Sounds to be an electrical issue to me if all the gauges stopped working.

How about fuses under the dash via fuse box.

There are no fuses there, but there ARE fusible links,which tend to be a source of trouble for many.....I would check these to be sure one hasn't gone bye-bye and causing your problem ... here is a pic stolen from another thread that shows the links:

Check the 5amp. fuse under the steering column. Mine was doing the same thing as yours, fuse was good but the one terminal was a little loose. After pinching closed a little with a dental pick all was well. I think a PO used one of the "tap a fuse" deals that slides over a push in fuse lug with a spade on the end so you have a live feed wire with out stripping any wires, they are not an alternative to solder and heat shrink tubing.
