366 spring install couple quick questians;

Got the sticky, Thanks! There is even a article in Diesel Power but I still have 2 questions;

Should I get fresh seals for the banjo nut?

Will I need to bleed the fuel system after I close the pump back up?

Thanks
Dave

I might just have to go look at that article at Walmart. Yes get the seal kit from Bosch DGK-121.

I reuse and never prime. Fires then dies, fires right up and runs. This isn't a VP44 so you're not gonna hurt things at an idle.

I've never had to get new crush washers or bleed the fuel system. They start right up and idle if you've put everything back together properly.

Thanks a ton guys! I would never have bought this truck let alone start mods with out the DTR brain trust.
spring should be here Monday (DDP 29$) I plan on doing the spring, clocking the fuel pin and trimming the FP nylon washer as necessary. Go for a drive to check temps and boost. Then... trusty 2X6 in hand, we leer at the fun screw;

Make sure that while you have the top of the pump off to do the 3k spring you remove the lock collar from the "fun" screw and also take out the high idle screw (closest to the head) and cut it down some. That will make it easier to get a screwdriver in there to adjust after you turn up the "fun" screw. To get the amount to cut off of the high idle screw back it all the way out or until it is flush with the housing and take a measurement just make sure that you leave enough to be able to turn it in towards the radiator if necessary.

yep, just make sure you hook up the fuel shutoff solenoid back up . when we did mine the pump leaked because of a worn out pump gasket. I would have a gasket kit on hand when you do it just in case.
