Low idle after 366 spring install

I need some help. I finally put the 366 spring in the VE. I also took the opportunity the turn the full fuel screw in about 2.5 turns from stock. I put everything back together but when I went to start it, I had to keep my foot on the go pedal to keep it running. As I bumped the throttle, it did not seem to hang.

I adjusted the low idle up. Then went for a test drive and don't seem to be getting any increase in RPM. After about 5 min of driving, the idle started dropping again. Buy the time I got home, I had to keep my foot on the accelerator to keep it running.

Any thoughts on what I did, didn't do, or need to do?

I marked it. It must not have been accurate enough or moved.

when you put the pump back togeather it should idle the same as when you took it apart and if you turned up the fuel it should idle higher, but its really hard to see the index marks on the throttle shaft but its an easy fix

Yep, one or the other. Re-index it a spline tighter and all will be well.

I bumped it up one spline then it idled high. Backed the idle screw out to get it where it belonged. Then the road test... Max speed went from 75mph to 80mph+. I didn't push it past that as the Nashville PD where still keeping an eye on traffic.

My boost was up to 22 psi but I saw it spike on my test drive at about 30. Is the spike OK and is that about where I should be?

30 is fine i run around 50 to 52 on a stock HG

you should of left the throttle saft alone and just turned in the fuel screw, hehe

does reindexing the throttle shaft allow you to physically turn in the fuel screw more or just help you keep you idle under control when you do turn in the fuel screw?

It will lower the idle enough to need the low idle screw and allow you to turn the fuel screw in to a near runaway. It is the only way to get the max out of your fuel screw and have a decent idle that I found.

yeah it is a pain to do the idle sometimes on these i had the same problem on mine when i did it. make sure the jamnuts are tight after you get it indexed otherwise the thing will back off on you like mine did.
