300hp and 750tq?
Take a look at this http://www.jannettyracing.com/pkg.sh...odge%20Cummins
Thats some good numbers would that be good for towing?or just play?

I wonder how much that kit costs? Honestly, I don't see the need for a "custom 3000 RPM pump" when you can put a $20 spring in there for 3200 RPM. Also, a 12cm wastegated housing can be had for $75 or so.
Interesting,
You can buy PODs for about $400 An old smokey power pin for about $250, and a good turbo for about $900.
For $1550 plus a bit of your own labor,
I dyoed 332HP and 794 LB FT of torque.
If you buy the HX 35 used, you can cut $500 plus out of the price.

I've upgraded the turbo since then and I've turned the full power screw in alittle more, which has more room to go. Haven't dynoed yet, but it should be around 300/750.

How old are those prices exactly?
With today's prices you're well above $1,267. Sorry, but I'm gonna have to call bs on your mpg figures. Only way you got 19mpg towing 10k is downhill with a tailwind.

Everything was bought locally or off eBay.
Exhaust stuff was from a local muffler shop where they gave me a "bro deal".
The filter was from a local big truck shop in Waco, TX. I still have the reciept at $19.91.
Turbocharger stuff was done by me when I worked for a turbocharger shop.
The air deflector was made from a sheet of alum that I bent over at the top, TIG welded in a flange for the stock inlet tube to fit over and bolted into the stock locations. I'd have to go through old CD's to find any pics.
Governor Spring was from another local Bosch/Cummins dealer in Waco, TX.
Gauges off eBay as a package deal for jap cars, new in boxes.
Cool down timer direct from Howard Van Fleet for $75 shipped.
I'm sure prices have changed since I did this truck. I sold it around August of '05 or somewhere around there (still kickin myself for doing that) I bought the truck in 'December '03.
I'm only saying how I did my truck, and what the results were. I hope others can use this as a helpful tip that you dont have to dump loads of cash into these 1st Gens to make reliable power. I never saw EGT's over 900* (post turbo) daily driving/highway/hot rodding...
I was impressed with this truck and what little was done to it to make that kind of power. I couldnt have done it without the help from Cody (aka NeedMoPower) the DTR, and the Waco Diesel freaks making fun of me for making no horsepower the first time we did a dyno day when my truck was stock. Most people can't do this stuff on their own, so spending money is all they can do...luckily for me, I have the tools & ability to do the work myself...which really helps save money and adds alot of pride to the results. I was broke when I did that truck...I shouldnt have spent any money on it, but I can't leave anything alone.
As for the mileage...24mpg from Waco to Kansas City, MO empty, and 19mpg pulling around 10k on the way back to Waco. Maybe my speedo was off, but thats what the calculator said.

.So towing egts dont go up to bad?jd730?I've since then upgraded the compressor to a HTT stage IV and I'm running a 12cm wastegated housing due to my tight torque converter, turbo lag and smoke where terrible. Egt's dropped 100 to 200* towing the same loads.
