DANA 70 axle/Ladder bar question

Hey folks!

I've just come into possession of the 5' version of these ladder bars ~ http://www.ntwonline.com/acb/showdet...=1655&CATID=27

They are a "Bolt-On" kit.

I got that style kit as I don't know that they will ultimately be permanent. But I'm also concerned that they might slip being bolt-on.

I'm thinking I can overcome that risk if I tack weld the flange of the axle bracket to the axle housing. Being tack welds, I can relatively easily grind them off if need be.

Can anyone think of any reason this wouldn't work?

Nope. With that length you won't run into any binding issues on the street.

Would you agree that I might need to tack-weld the mount to the axle housing or would the U-bolts be sufficient?

I would tack it. That way if it slips you have a visual reference.
