1st gen suspension and brake line upgrades ???

Hi i recently purchased a 1991 w250 ctd and i am doing alot of work to the truck to make it nicer as an everyday driver. First i am having the frame media blasted and epoxy coated before i put new parts on. the truck rides really rough and was wondering if any suspension upgrades can be made to make it ride a little nicer.(I am putting new shocks on it.)Also I am wondering if the leafs are worn because the top of the tires are pointing inward or is that normal?-the ball joints are good. And for the brakes i am having a hard time finding a full pre bent brake line kit preferably stainless.
Any help is appreciated Thanks.

Every body has different opinions on suspension. some good some not so some expensive others not.

I am eventually going to do the 52" shevy rear spring swap on my front. and a shackle flip on the rear. I am trying the D250(2WD) springs on my rear. but it will be awhile before my 4X4 conversion is complete.

I don't know of any ready bent brake line kits. Stainless can be tough to work with. NiCopp is much easier to bend and is corrosion resistant.

Your wheels pointing inwards is most likely due to your king pins being worn out. The 4wd truck don't have ball joints. And I would suspect that you need new more then a few new parts in the front end as well.

As for soft ride front springs. I bought a set of "soft ride" springs from a local company, They also sell on-line....

..few other guys have run them as well on their trucks. My opinion on these springs is that they are NOT softer then the OEM springs.

If you are expecting a smooth ride, you got the wrong rig. That said there are a couple of tricks people have tried and posted about here.

Inline tubing has kits for pretty much everything. Sorting thru the catalog is a chore though.

I ordered a kit from them 5 years ago- nice stuff, fit perfect. The long frame rail line was especially nice. I got regular steel and coated with crc marine anti-corrosion protectant. Stainless is pretty tough stuff to avoid leaks with.

The w250 sets should fit any diesel- lines should fit any truck with a Dana 60 front and Dana 60/70 rear. As far as I know only differences are in the proportioning valve between the 88-89 (or is it 90?) trucks and 91-93s

I put that Inline tube brake line kit on about 6yrs ago, in stainless, and never looked back, great fit and no more corrosion.
