1st Gen Rear Sway Bar - Pics!

Fabbing up the axle brackets turned out to be a bit more work than I expected. This was mostly due to the radical design needed to avoid interfering with the brake lines on the driver's side. Nothing fancy really, just a bit odd. It works quite well, though. Truck feels much more stable in the turns now.

I couldn't understand how you could need a swaybar, then I saw you have some softer aftermarket spring packs.

My stockers are so stiff they never move.

Thanks VERY MUCH for the excellent photos!

I'm currently doing a D-100 Town Wagon project, upgraded to D-200 [maybe 300?] that's getting a Cummins 4BT/NV4500 with Dana 60HD rear. Got the front anti-sway fabbed up yesterday and was doing some serious head scratching on the rear bar: and there it is right in front of me! Excellent timing, how did you know? Thanks! Nice workmanship too....

I started installing swaybars everywhere I could after the first one I did on my '71 Chrysler New Yorker a few years ago. They make a nice improvement to the handling characteristics anywhere I've put them on. This is the 4th one I've done. It is a really good bang for the buck if you can get them cheap off eBay or something like that. They can be put on just about anything if you are able to work the fabrication stuff to come up with a way to bolt them on.

It's true I can do wonderful things with my Millermatic 35 and a cutting torch and the right tools. But it's guys like you who are willing to share their solutions to problems and their cleverness in craftsmanship that make my life so much easier. Wherever possible I try to return the favor to the next guy too! Good job, Ace....
