I went to the JY today and pulled a hydroboost unit out of a 1992 Astro van. I took the line ends and proportioning valve too. I have a new hydroboost unit but I needed the mount off the back of the Astro van unit. Figure I'll keep the old one for a spare.
I also removed the HVAC box from the parts truck. I cleaned all of the mouse turds off of the plastic trim pieces from the parts truck with Simple Green.

Nice score.....always good to have spare parts. I ordered another HB rebuild kit for my now spare, astro van HB unit. It will be ready to go if I need it, or want to use it in another project, or possibly sell it.

Yeah it worked out pretty well. The van was in a JY 10 miles from my house and was right next to the entrance road and easy to get to (i.e. not buried and hard to get to). It was also sunny and 50* out!

Finally got the parts truck all taken apart. I pulled the cab off with my dozer and set it upright on a skid I built so I can put it in the garage and work on the rust standing up.

The little dozer that could!

Surprisingly so! It comes in pretty handy. Gonna be real handy tomorrow. We have about 20" of snow on the ground now (3pm) and it's still coming down.

Work on the rust, standing up???
That almost sounds like cheating.
Glad to see you getting on the "winter project".
I am still saving you Spice colored trim and such.
We can touch base on what you need as the Mopar show gets closer.

Struck Magnatrac MT6000. All hydro drive. Lombardini 2 cylinder 28hp diesel engine. Arrived at my house in the back of a Chevy 3500 SRW. The nice thing about it is that you can get it into some really tight spots. It will do most of the work of a bigger machine it just takes longer.

My brother Evan and a friend of his pulled the bed off my truck and set it next to the shop for me. I have most of the interior pulled from the original cab. I went parts hunting yesterday and brought home some decent spares including a complete fuel tank and sender unit for $20. The fuel line nipples are broken of of the sender but I have a spare. Might go with bigger fuel lines anyway.

I picked up a Powr Lok unit a while back and the Spicer clutch pack rebuild kit showed up today. I have the clutches soaking in friction modifier over night. I took the PowrLok apart tonight and set it in the parts washer. Hopefully I'll get it put together tomorrow night. One friction disk and the corresponding metal plate were REALLY chewed up but the housing and spiders look OK. It was supposed to have 53K on it but the amount of wear says otherwise.

I am going to do a powerLok search one of these days. Probably easier to find them for Dana 60 around here though.
