Any Advice on my 1991 W250
Here's the story of this truck that i know. It was my grandpas truck he bought to tow his Airstream around after he retired. He parked it in 2013 and would start it every once in awhile.I just bought it from him because i'm tired of seeing something so cool go to waste how ever i've never owned a diesel and i do not know much about them so im asking for any advice on making it road worthy again or what price i should be asking for.I've uploaded photos to my page.
WHAT I KNOW
It is a 1991 w250 4x4 VIN#1B7KM2688MS245807. 129297 ORG MILES
non intercooled
dana 3.07 gears unfortunately that i don't think they make anymore
does not have head studs
have no idea if the killer dowel pin has ever been done
I've put on new oil filter plus oil and drained out all old diesel and changed fuel filter.
It started right up after that No smoke at all came out but seems my brake booster is froze up or not working. brakes are very hard and does not want too stop.
So my ? is about how much would it cost to make this a relieable truck again or how much should i ask for it if i sale.

You're freakin insane if you sell it. Brake booster replacement is easy-
1. double check your vaccuum pump is still working- it supplies vacuum to the booster so the booster can assist the brakes
2. If working, go to rock auto and buy a Prior booster, not a cardone. Need 9/16 sockets and a u joint or flex head and short stubby ratchet. And just need to measure the old push rod and adjust the new one
3. enjoy. Drive it and then make decisions on what to do. They are loud and simple and get good mileage and you can't get a vehicle even close to them anymore. You'll learn to love the diesel. Just be aware most parts are difficult to find now if not related to the engine, so don't break anything unless you know how to fix it. You've found that out already with the gears.
Gradually get into the other maintenance parts like changing the gear oil and trans filter/fluid. I'm guessing an auto since 3.07 gears.

1. Read the FAQ SECTION on this board.
2. Ask questions.
3. Ignore smart *****, and people that are discouraging.
4. A little at a time.
5. Stay positive, and enjoy that truck. Your family will enjoy the progress.
I wish I could name all the guys that have helped me in this board, and they don't even know it. I have just searched, followed advice, and I cannot thank any of them enough.

Thank you both jerseybud and bmouser !!. I have decided to keep the truck and to be honest I was intimidated and overwhelmed not knowing a lot about diesel or dodges and the truck has been sitting for 5 years but after looking at all the first gen youtube videos and the knowledge on this form my plan is to build it to be the most reliable truck I can build so my family can be using it for many years to come.

That is the best plan I have heard all day.

I am in the same situation. My Uncle left me his '91.5 when he passed three years ago. I've had plenty of D and W series Dodges over the year, and can usually fumble my way thru most problems, plus my Uncle was usually a phone call away. Diesels are totally new to me. So far it hasn't thrown me any curves I couldn't handle. But there are great guys here fully willing to help. And plenty of info in the tech section.

Cool.
You have history there, that's a good thing. And an unmolested truck, another good thing.
Plus you have the cool dash pod, front winch bumper and air bags.
Nice truck to start with.
