Yeah but I think you have to be one of the first to spot that as a method of easily lowering the motor.

Maybe so, Around here most of us are working complete trucks though.

TodayIset the engine back on the cross member I is now low enough. the picture looks like it touches but it has 3/4": clearance. and the front of the engine is slightly lower than stock. T also loosely bolted the steering box up to check for interference with my spring hanger gussets. all is good. I also removed the front bumper and mounts for easier access.
Now I get to take it all apart so the rain doesn't rout it all up before I can paint it

That steering set-up just gives me tingly sensation in my happy places. You are almost making me want to do the 10 hour drive to go get the RR steering parts my buddy in Portland, OR has for me.

It looks like your custom engine crossmember can be un bolted in case the oil pan needs to be pulled….

That was one of the added benefits of designing it to fit around the installed engine.
