I think the size is cast in the exhaust housing somewhere.

going from memory i think the 92 came out with an 18cm

if it did a better choice would be a 12cm

That 92 should have a 21cm on it.

Look on the turbo mounting flange on the side facing the firewall. The number should be cast into there.

If it is a 21cm lagmaster then yes it will make a noticeable difference. I just put one on my 91.5 and I love it!! is your truck an auto or a manual? if its a manual then i would agree that a 12cm would be better based on what everyone here says. something else to consider is if you tow with the truck but those guys will chime in soon!!

I have an HX-35 on my truck, almost the same but WG with a 12cm housing. Love it. Stays cooler than the H1-C, but I can't tow much with it bc I don't have an intercooler (installed) yet. The 12 spools real quick though! I would go that route if I were you.

I swapped the 16cm onto my 92 5spd shortly after I got it, really woke the motor up. I think I gained 3-5lbs of boost and the turbo spooled a lot faster. Was definately worth the money IMO. Only problem I have now is to much fuel not enough turbo. I tow all the time with this truck and I would rather not have to keep 1 1/2 eyes on the pyro. Hopefully the HE351VE will take care of that!

hey-Hey!!!,
I 16cm-ed both my 21 cm 91, and the 18.5cm-ed 1990 and won't have it any other way. Going to transfer the 90's 16cm housing to a new HX35 shortly and figger that will do quite well. IC-ing at some point after that. Not much towing done with either one. Didn't mess with the pump beyond the 'full-throttle' mod and don't plan to get nutsy at any time soon.
cheers,
Douglas
