I am starting to be sorry I installed the fass

I got my fass system installed a few weeks ago and I just started to notice some loss in fp after I put fuel in it the other day. I must have some bad fuel that is clogging the fuel filter but I cannot find any locally anywhere. I called around and everyone said I would have to buy a case of filters. Fleetgaurd is the only one that makes them. I called fass and they sold me filters but I never thought to order a couple water seperators since they are the same deal I have to buy them by the case. With shipping the filters were 75 dollars from fass. The guy at fass told me some filter numbers that I could use in a pinch but that was bad info also. I bought the wix filter he told me to get and it was too short the dip tube for the filter hit the bottom of the filter before the threads caught. I cut the dip tube shouter only to find that the gasket is way too big and dosent seal at all. I hit the key and spilled fuel all over. If I knew that it would be a big deal to buy filters I never would have put the pump on my truck. I might just take it off and install the piston lp I am so mad right now.. I hate when you spend good money for something only to find out that they engineered something very poorly. Why couldnt they just use a common filter that way it would be no big deal to replace them.

I called them and they told me to go to my local fleetgaurd dealer. I told them that I already did that and the only warehouse that had them in stock was in mexico!!!!! Fleetgaurd moved all their operations to mexico recently and shut down production for a little while so stock is scarce from what I was told.

Yep that fleetgaurd statment is ture. I will no longer be running FG on my trucks! I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Have you tried napa. they can cross all FG #'s with their brand of filter. That may work out for you? I'm not sure what else to tell you besides....Good luck

I tried to have napa cross the number there is no napa number that replaces it. Fass had fleetgaurd make a special filter.

Our shoulders are here for everyone. You rant all you want to. Nothing makes me mad to spend money and get pooped on in the long run! I cant believe as popular as they are that other people havent found a cheaper replacement filter. Have you posted this question on the 2nd gen section? They use them more than anyone I believe!
