what would you do ?

If you had a stock 95 4x4 auto with 300 000 km and access to a DC shop and a parts department full of parts at barebone cost , what would you do ?
Also , I have access to a lot of used(warranty) parts from 2001 -2002 diesels, one being an innercooler. I thought i heard these are more efficient than the 12v ones ?

Sounds almost too good to be true! I would start at the rear and take apart and replace anything that looks remotley worn and turn that truck back into one that looks and runs like one that had 10km on it. Keep track of what all you do to it and let us know in real dollars versus what you put out. And if I lived in Alberta you and I would become great friends With your connections and all Goodluck,,Rick

Does the 215 pump give much of a difference over my pump if it gets modded? Im thinking about talking to the transmission shop to see about a little sublet warranty work on a 47rh. I've been "collecting" 94 -97 truck parts since about 1998 or so , antisapating that i would some day have a 12v to call my own...now i do. I'm glad i kept a drivers seat bottom in the garage , mine is a liitle worn out and you can get new ones anymore. I want the truck to be dependable, so im thinking of changing out all the potential problems before they happen...lift pump, fuel shutoff solenoid, ect.

Slip the 48RE guts into your 47RE, that'll help the trans live. put the Mopar Performance P5007793AB aluminum trans pan on it. New front hubs/rotors. Rebuild transfer case and both axles. New vacuum pump and power steering pump. New turbo. That'll keep you busy for a while.

Just "found" a fresh reman mopar 215 pump....don't know if i should put it on with the stock plate or not....also thinking of trying this pump with my 160 injectors......or if ya think i should , i can find some 215's. I'm looking for a middle ground to performance and economy.

I work on 98.5 to 2006's every day....12 valves are like carbs vs fuel injection to me ....i just havn't played with them too much. Don't think it will take long to figure it out , but i do want fuel economy . My 94 318 4x4 dakota will get 18 mpg pulling the boat , but i want that with a camper in the box.

Hey Hoser - where in Alberta are ya??

The Alberta chapter is having a meet - next weekend I believe

If you're interested in attending - check out the "National/Regional Chapters section" - Page 3. Bring that 215 hp pump and i'll "test" it for ya for awhile...

i would say ut a 215 without the fuel plate and some 215 injectors and you should still get around 20-22 mpg with 16-18 degrees timing. thats what i get with my setup, oh, i disabled the wastegate and welded it shut also. i get good fuel milege even though i was not trying to consider fuel efficiency at all when i was setting up my truck, ps, i have a rebuilt engine with about 10,000 milse that i have personally put on it. 900 ft lbs of torque and 400 hp and a burned up clutch
