Throttle Position Sensor

Info needed: Is there a repair such as cleaning or adjusting for the throttle position sensor or should it just be replaced. The tranny is downshifting on its own under throttle. It's a 1996 3500 Automatic. Thanks, Dutch

Cleaning the TPS is a waste of time for short term results, just buy a new one or use the pot method.

Thanks for the diagram, I will do the same. Also, would you know if installing bigger/taller tires would impact the hunting of gears? What is the best way to reprogram for the taller tires?

The best way is to re-gear the axles so that it is running like stock.

Went through this and tried to clean mine. Did change it and made it better, but shortly after it went back to doing the same thing. I bought a replacement Bosch part from Advance and replaced it with no problems since.
