Stock oil pressure gauge.

So is the stock oil pressure gauge somewhat accurate on the 12v's? Would an Autometer oil pressure gauge that's electric, not mechanical, be any better?

No, it isn't accurate. It will tell you if you have low oil pressure but that is it. A good mechanical gauge will tell you what the pressure actually is.

What should oil pressure be, hot idle and running at road speed 55-75?

Mine is about 40 at hot idle, and just over 40 at road speed.

Seems normal to me, but just curious...

Well that sucks. Not much we can do about it though. There's no way I'm plumbing oil into the cab with a mechanical gauge.

My stock gauge always hovers around 40 psi. It may be a hair above when I start it, especially on colder days. But it generally stays right at the 40 mark all the time, idling or driving.
