Steering Box play adjustment?
Hello all,
I have had a recent alignment and I just installed the SSB kit and the truck drives alot better now but I have to move the steering wheel about 2" or so when driving to make minimal road corrections. The kit does seem to keep the truck from wandering when driving straight better which is nice.
I have read about the box adjustment but was told by the alignment shop the steering box itself is worn and the adjustment will not correct the play.
Is this true or do I need a new steering box?
Thanks everyone great to have a support group for these trucks like this one.

Before you spend for a new box, check out Geno's website-look for TSB 19-10-97. I made this adjustment on my 97 2500 4x4 and it made a world of difference. Its really pretty easy after I ground a tool to tighten the disc ( didn't have a a spanner), also had to guess at the torque on the locknut, but so far so good
