I was messing around with the truck today and I found a broken plastic pin (about 1/8"-3/16"). Marc and I must have broke it when we were bumping my timing. (Im sure suprised it was still there). I assume this is the pin on the pump itself.

He must mean the one in the timing case. The one in the pump isn't something they would have played with, its behind a nut and you pull it out and turn it around to pin the pump.
As for the plastic pin in the case, I pulled mine out with pliers once but was able to push it back in. Its just seemed to be held in by the tension of the oring. If you can see to get all the old one out I would guess you could just slide a new one in.

Are you talking about the plastic pin that is under the IP, behind the gear case and is a ***** to get to? Mine is RTV'd in because it is basically worthless for anything but adjusting the valves. I did a valve overlap, marked the damper, and never looked back.

Yes, that was what I was talking about - but after further investigation, (heres the part where I look like an idiot ) I believe the broken pin I found was from the hood switch on my alarm

We had some many issues when doing the timing/KDP I honestly cant remember. I vaguely remember something was wrong with the pin. The timing was out so bad we had to pull #1 injector and find TDC that way.
