Well, Got'er ordered form Precision Diesel, 30 bucks with the oring, and 5 bucks shipping. I'm hoping I can get a little better than 14.5 now!

How does the overflow valve affect milage? Doesn't it just return un used fuel back to the tank, so wouldn't it be used eventually anyway?

The OF valve regulates the fuel pressure supplied to the injection pump. If the FP is too low the injection pump struggles to provide enough fuel to the injectors at the correct pressure. Power and mpgs suffer.

Isnt there just a spring you can buy instead of the whole valve? If not a spring made for that application then a like spring that would do the job?

I provided an OF valve spring to a guy who is great finding that sort of thing, works at Boeing. Others on TDR have tried to source one. No luck.
Sometimes the problem with the valve isn't just the spring, the ball can get a ring worn in it. Easier to just pay $30 for a new valve.

It's so simple it's hardly worth a link. Just remove the old one and put new one in it's place. Don't lose the washers. Occasionally the notch in the manifold you see to the left of the OF valve in the picture needs to be filed or ground a little to allow the old valve to be removed. Don't bend the line to remove the valve, it will make it very difficult to line up right again. New style OF valves don't have the retainer on top that says not to remove, don't worry it's just a design change.

The object in the lower left corner is your oil fill cap.

Called up Diesel Injection and Turbo, ordered it last Thursday(they said it would ship the same day), figured it would be here by now, so I called them and they said it just shipped today Oh well, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
