My new overflow valve is junk!
I bought a new 1 piece O/F valve from Precision injection, and it's no good. It runs great with it in there, but it's squirting diesel fuel out around the steel ball that's pressed into the end. I noticed it after I had driven 52 miles to and from work, so I had to degrease the engine when I put the old one back in... now it runs like crap again.
I called Precision and left a message (just missed closing time by 30 minutes), so hopefully they'll send a replacement out ASAP. I probably got the 1 bad one out of a thousand... that's how my luck goes.
Has anyone else seen this happen w/ the one piece overflow valves? At an idle, it had a very small stream of fuel squirting onto the head and running down the block. I also noticed that it was hard to start... I had to press the throttle down 1/4 of the way to get it to fire up. I'm guessing that it was because that hole that allowed fuel to squirt out was also letting air back in and allowing the fuel to flow back toward the tank.

Yeah, I have no doubt that he'll replace it... he seems like a pretty nice guy.
It's just a pain in the rear to have to put my old junk one back in. Not to mention a letdown. My truck was running better than ever, but I just couldn't handle the fuel spraying all over everything.

I had one shoot the entire ball out on a customers truck and you think you got a mess with just a squirt with that ball missing it will pump a lot of fuel funny thing is the customer said it ran better with the leak Marty replaced it so don't worry about it he will take care of you
