New 12v questions

Well I bought a 12v it's a 95 eclb I was told bye the previous owner it has full cut delivery valves shaved fuel plate 200 hp injectors and 64mm Borg warner turbo. Truck needs a little work so I'm not driving it but I did take it for little spin it seems to have too much lag and excessive black smoke I do understand diesels but not sure what this guy intended to be doing here. It seems to spool at 2500 rpm lil bit high to run daily and all the soot asking for trouble I'm wondering if different turbo or turbo and injectors to get it back to a good daily driver?

sounds like a ton of fuel for a 64 turbo. You can dial the AFC a little to limit the off idle fueling and cut down the smoke there. That will result in some lag, its a trade-off.
For the top end.. if it smokes at full boost youll need to back off on some of the fueling. The DV's, injectors or fuel plate. you may want to install the right fuel plate for the application so you can limit rack travel while the turbo is spooling.
Hope this truck has an EGT gauge and no burned up pistons. just sounds like a lot of fuel for the air you have.

12v help

Well I bought a 95 12 valve I got it as a project a kid had it before me and was a total Edit he claims it has full cut delivery valves shaved fuel plate and 200 hp injectors. It does have a Borg warner turbo on size he claimed 64mm but the truck dosent seem to run that well don't get me wrong it runs good but it dosent go over 40 psi manifold psi. I checked air to air boots and replaced 1 and seems to spool a little better the pyro dosent seem to get over 1100 pre turbo at wot and it's very laggy smokes very bad. Now not knowing these truckers very well I'm kinda leaning towards turbo might be too big and injectors not actually be 200hp. So I guess any info from guys with some experience would be great

Put a set of stock 215 injectors (or 50-90hp) in it until you can sort it out better. 200hp injectors are probably too big. It would take a lot of air and rpm to support them. It can be very smokey at less than high hp with big injectors. Would not seem very street freindly.

May I ask what you want out of the truck? Towing, Street play, economy?
