Angry need help with fuel shutoff, I'm stumped!

Ok so I had problems with this thing before. Last time it was a new relay and problem solved.....for about 12 months

Now it is dead again.

I have power on only one side of my solenoid to hold the plunger up but I have to lift it by hand. (once the key is on)

Since this is exactly the same thing that happend last time I went ahead and bought a new OEM fuel shutoff relay (56 bux wasted )

Ok new relay in place and it still won't lift up.
I used a test light and there is zero power to the lift side of the soilenoid.
I unpluged it and applied a 12v jumper cable and ground to the fuel shutoff seloinoid and it lifts right up.

I check my blue wire and it appears good and has power all the way thru as far as I can test until it's buried in the wire harness. Fuses all appear good in both fuse boxes

What else am I missing??

could this be an ignition problem instead? Something in my key switch?

So ,by what I'm reading ,is you have to pull the linkage up for it to engage(with key in run position)??

yes. I must turn on the key and lift the arm/linkage to start the engine. It stays up once I lift it but won't raise on it's own.

Trying to figure out why there is no power to the seloinoid on the lift side. The on side has power but not the "lift the arm up" side.

If I cant get this figured out soon I'm going to wire me in a hot wire to the seloinoid so at least I won't have to jump out and open the hood all the time

Did you get the relay/relays [ dodge sells them on one mnt. , 2 relays ] ?
At least on my truck , 94 , not sure if they changed that for your yr.
The pull relay gives power to the solenoid in the start position , if you have a 2nd relay , that is a starter relay , the lift signal passes through that , I thought with out looking at a wiring diagram .
Follow from the solenoid , back to the relay / relays , to look for power & where its not coming from , have a wiring diagram that matches your truck to see where the power drops / gets lost .

on the 95 you get two relays, they are mounted together on the same bracket.

Power to the lift circuit doesn't flow though the key switch. The solenoid itself seems fine and if you're sure the blue fusible link is ok the only thing left is the wire that triggers the relay at the starter motor. Recall it being brown, it's the small one though. Make sure it's not broken and clean the connection.

Install a cable kill...and forget about the electric solenoid! No more problems!

The starter solenoid may be the culprit.. Poor connection at the solenoid may be an early indicator of another problem and that is bad contacts in the starter solenoid. Easily fixed however with contacts from Fosters..

Had similar problem (Infidel helped with that one too). Ended up replacing two 9 - 10 year old batteries (OEM on 11/97 build date) and problem solved. Up to that point it still started well just not enough juice to lift the solenoid. Just a thought, check your batteries and clean the connections.
