Metal return line fuel leak?

Guy's for some reson the search is not working, and this is something i need to fix pretty fast. I haven't tore into it yet but noticed a wet spot under truck that is diesel. I found about right at trans case cross member, there must be a pin hole in fuel line, its just dripping. I'm guessing it the return b/c truck starts fine, its the smaller line of the two, and there is no pressure, just drips. I need to drive this thing pretty far this weekend and really dont want to with the way it is.. Is there a quick fix to it?? Being a return can i cut and use some kind of compression fitting?? what are my optioins, i know the best is to buy a new line, but just dont have the time?? Thanks

You could cut that section out and install a diesel approved rubber line and clamp it...Guys here have removed all there steel lines and installed rubber diesel lines..

I'll check the disconnect but i'm thinkin it been wearin on the clamp that holds to frame. at least that what it looks like. Like i said havent pulled into shop yet to really check out. am i right that the smaller line is the return?? The guys that are replacing metal with rubber, are they cutting right at the disconnect?? How are they doing it?? Like i said if this has been over alot sorry but search isn't working for me everything else is, just no search

The smaller line is the return, that is correct, I can't answer your other questions.

I fixed mine with fuel line and clamps 5 yrs now and doing fine. Just use a tubing cutter and remove as much as you want. I replaced about a foot.l

The return line from the overflow valve back to the tank is $70 from dodge, and you need to pull the pump to get it in or out in one piece. Mine was leaking slightly, and it got progressively worse, just a pin hole to start. Take care of it now, fuel's not cheap these days..

I just cut it and added some hose to make the needed length.

Feed is 3/8" return is 5/16".

Many run hose all the way back to the tank, no worries. Just whack it where you want and run hose right from the pump back.
