fp timing to 17-19 degrees....whats the mm lift?

I searched and searched. The highest I can find is 16 degrees at 5.6 mm.

BTW 98 215 pump.

It looks like .1 is about .5 degrees.....but its not perfect, just close. Id like to see the numbers for 17, 18, 19 degrees.

Anybody?

I would call Schieds or ask for Piers at BD. They would be able to confirm that of the top of their head..

Its not just close.......its exactly how the scale goes Bosch specs are in Metric..........add 0.1mm plunger lift for every 0.5 degree advance. you can go as high as you care to count. don't convert it to standard measure. 0.1mm is 38 ten thousandths. if you really have to convert it. but its waaaay easier to count up the scale in metric.

Its strange, but I think piers lists it every 0.1 to 0.5 degree but on Genos site it is NOT that way. http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/FAQ/timing.htm

It varies, back and forth on both sides of .01 alittle bit.

I double, triple checked, and it seems I got mine at .230- .232 inches, or about 17.5 degrees. I was doing mine on the ground, without the head on. The only thing Im waiting on is thehead studs.....hopefully be here tomarrow.

New engine, is 020 over, coated pistons (skirts and crowns),ported head (extensively), coated runners (intake and exhuast), valve job, o ringed .039 groove with .041 stainless wire, coated combustion area and valves. Helix 2 cam, lower compression....only a tad. Total seal second ring, alinged oil passages, and painted pretty.

1" is equala to 25.400000000000000...000mm. So 1/25.4 is .03937007874" per 1mm.

right my confirming .1 to .5 is for the pump I have, forgot you have a 215 pump/

...and there you have it. that is the reason why you don't convert to standard. 8 post worth of different numbers because theres was a type-o and someone used more digits to divide by.......blah blah

Bosch set the specs in metric. measure it with a metric dial indicator whatever the number is. done deal.

I recehecked it probably 6 times. Due to dial indicator mounting, I m thus satisfied, that I measured .230-.232 again and agian and again.

I cant wait to start this thing. I got the head studs today.....should be getting the head on tonight, and might set it in the truck tomarrow.
